In the small town of Spencer, high waters killed one person and damaged or destroyed 40% of the city’s homes. Hundreds of residents were evacuated, and more than 380 people had to be rescued. Billy Graham Rapid Response Team (BG-RRT) chaplains are in Spencer to offer the hope found only in Jesus Christ
Our chaplains comfort and encourage homeowners, local officials, first responders, and Samaritan's Purse volunteers and staff with the love of Jesus. Please pray for us as we lead this team, and for our teams to represent well.
UPDATE: We are home now, but the weather seems like we are still in Texas! We had such an amazing end to our deployment with 4 salvations! 1 homeowner, 2 neighbors, and 1 Samaritan's Purse volunteer. The volunteer came to help people, but he was discouraged, angry with God, and not sure he wanted to continue living. He spent 2 days with Team Patriot, the veterans arm of SP's disaster relief. There he saw men with purpose, men who care about others, and who love Jesus. He spent several hours talking with the team leader one night, and finally realized what he was missing - a personal relationship with Jesus. He surrendered his life and now has a brighter, hope-filled outlook. He is excited to see what kind of a future the Lord has for him. Praise God for the opportunity to witness His hand at work!
ORIGINAL POST:
Between April 28th and May 7th, the Southeast Texas area received a record amount of rainfall with some areas receiving over ten inches of rain in a day and some areas being inundated with as much as six inches of rain per hour. With totals reaching over twenty-five inches in parts of the area, many residents experienced extensive flooding to their homes.
How horrible for those whose lifelong dreams were washed away in the torrents!
We are currently in Livingston, TX, in a seriously economically depressed area, that has taken a very hard hit. There are many homeless from the flooding, and many more displaced. They had little to nothing before, and have even less now. There is so much need - please consider donating to Samaritan's Purse so that we can help as many as possible to rebuild their homes and their lives.

Please pray for us and our teams as we bring hope and comfort to those who have lost their homes, and in some cases, their livelihood as well.
Please prayerfully consider volunteering to help as well - Samaritan's Purse is urgently seeking volunteers at all their active sites.
Our church’s medical team is prepping to go up the Camotan Mountain above Chiquimula, Guatemala in July. We partner with Kairos House Ministries to provide medical clinics to serve under-resourced families, making sure that they get the life-saving medications and care they need.
Last year, we treated nearly 500 villagers, some with critical, life-threatening situations that required ingenuity and resourcefulness on the part of our practitioners! There is a dangerous shortage of basic medical attention in this area, but we are grateful that God provides all that we need, and honored that He sends us to care for them.
This year our team’s fundraising goal is around $50,000.
A steep and ambitious goal
for sure.
Over half of that goal is the cost of medication and supplies for the work we do.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!! ALL THE SUPPLIES ON OUR WISHLIST HAVE BEEN PURCHASED! We are blown away by your generosity and support, and we are so very grateful! The people of Camotan will be cared for because of you!
When Dwight and I (Roxanne) retired from our careers, we knew that God wasn't calling us to the 'rocking chair' scene. Believing that THE BEST IS YET TO COME!, we sought the Lord's guidance on how
we could best fit into His story.
In these pages, we desire to bring you along on our adventures, show you how God can use anyone (even old-timers like us), and give you opportunity to partner in prayer, through giving, or by joining us
in the journey!
Come and see!
We believe that God has a good plan for
each and every person.
We believe that the power of the Name of Jesus changes lives.
We believe that only faith in Jesus' finished work on the cross leads to salvation.
We believe that Holy Spirit leads, guides, and comforts every believer according to
the openness of their hearts.
We believe that the Lord works in us and through us as we step out in faith, keeping our eyes on Him.
